All past episodes of Unemployed Commentators the laid‑back pandemic sports podcast featuring Gian Carlo and me, Gary John Miller are getting their very own YouTube home.

You can still stream every episode on your favorite podcast players, but now you can also catch them on their new YouTube channel. Gian and I may no longer be “unemployed”—we’ve both found work and have put the podcast on pause but rest assured the commentary couch is still there. Past episodes with guests like Skye Folsom, Master Ken, Bill Beteet, and others are all available in one spot, so if you missed one or want to relive a great breakdown of a classic sports moment, head over to the new channel. We’re so grateful for everyone who joined us for those spontaneous, couch-side conversations. Even though we’re employed for now, our sports love hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s like a time capsule of two dudes talking trash with love in their hearts.
The truth is, we don’t really have two hours on a random Tuesday to watch a whole baseball game anymore. Life’s just different now. The podcast was born during a weird, uncertain moment in time where sports were paused, the world was on edge, and I was looking for anything to feel normal again. Sports and history became this perfect mash-up of nostalgia and comfort, and somehow, that turned into a show.
I’m incredibly grateful Gian was there with me for all of it. He kept me grounded. He made me laugh. He reminded me why I love talking about the things I love. He’s still one of my best friends, and even though we’re both working and focused on stand-up and writing these days, I wouldn’t do this show without him. It only works if it’s both of us, and if it feels right.
That said, it probably won’t ever look like the same Unemployed Commentators. That version existed in a very specific moment. And while I’m thankful for it, I really am, I don’t want to go back to it. That era was special, chaotic, a little unhinged, and therapeutic.
So if you want to revisit the show, if you want to hear some funny takes and see what two creatively restless guys cooked up during lockdown, the episodes are still there for you. And who knows someday we might return in a new form. Just not now. And not like that. We’re slowly uploading the old videos to the new YouTube channel now. If you want to get notified when they go live, subscribe there. Relive the weirdness. Share your favorite episodes. Or just let it play in the background like we used to do with SportsCenter reruns.
